Laura Putnam
FOUNDER + PRINCIPAL
Laura Putnam approaches interior design as an extension of daily life, guided by the belief that a home should not only be beautiful, but deeply felt. Raised by an artist mother and exposed early to the inner workings of high-end residential construction through her father, she developed an intuitive understanding of how spaces shape mood, rhythm, and a sense of ease.
Her work is informed by a formal education in interior design and art history, with a focus on architecture and the built environment, as well as more than a decade working within a high-end residential architecture and design firm. That experience continues to inform the thoughtful, highly considered approach she brings to private homes today.
Based in Santa Barbara, Laura’s work balances restraint and warmth, favoring natural materials, considered proportions, and spaces designed to be lived in over time. Each project is approached with care and discretion, resulting in interiors that feel grounded, personal, and quietly transformative.
Rhett Putnam
PARTNER + PROJECT MANAGER
Rhett Putnam oversees the operational and technical aspects of the studio’s residential projects, bringing a grounded, detail-oriented approach to execution. With a background in construction and architectural drafting, he bridges design intent and built reality, ensuring clarity at every stage of the work.
His role spans project coordination, budgeting, and on-site oversight, providing consistency across consultants, trades, and timelines. As a partner in the firm, Rhett plays a central role in guiding projects forward with precision, efficiency, and care.
Cara McShane
DESIGN ASSOCIATE
Cara McShane’s professional design background spans residential and hospitality industries, including previous experience at an interior design firm as well as design & home startups.
A graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Journalism and a minor in Business and the Liberal Arts, she brings clarity and care to client communication and execution alike. Cara plays a key role in vendor coordination, scheduling, and project management, helping ensure a smooth, well-run process across all stages of your project.
